"alien pope" sculp
here is the ALIEN POPE sculp again. messing around with the wifes camera , super sculpey is hard to photo because it is translucent. My next sculp I will be mixing sculpey 3 with SS to get my opaque color tone and then painting it with thin washes of acrylic and windex with airbrush, over the clay witch will already be my base tone.
"alien pope" sculpture
Here it is! my first sculpt. The old crooked pope bastard from another world. Done in super sculpey. Hope you like it, tried to put a ton of character and grit into his face and pose. I truly think that is what makes a character believable. For example, artists Stan Winston, David Meng, Jordu Shell, and Aris Kolokontes concepts all have this to the extreme, what I call "TRUE GRIT". There sculps seem to stare at you rather then you staring at them, much respect to all these guys they inspire me to produce a higher level of product every day. More pics of my sculp to follow!

alien pope color finish
I tried a new style, watercolor and colored pencils. I really like it, it gives me some detail and is fairly fast. I going to sculp this old crooked bastard next.

"crab gladiator"
I was watching a gladiator show and thought that a crab would make a great hybrid. With the shell as the helmet and the nose mouth and jaw of crab for face. If you ever looked at a crab face zoomed in it's creepy as hell, perfect for my creature.

old "sea dog" 2
first time messing in photoshop. Just wanted to add a mood to my drawing. I was using a mouse which is like painting with a rock, but all in all I like the mood and it only took 10 minutes.

"Tuskatorian" beast from the underworld finish
well, here it is, the part man part elephant arena creature. oil on board. I did the oils pretty fast just to get it up, and I found out that the oils I have been using "wintons"are student grade and are very hard to use. they have the consistency of cream cheese and drag and goop. Anyway, still think it turned out good. I got the concept across , I tried to show movement and a lot of attitude, like he just walked into the arena, looked at the crowd and was like "BRING IT"! Also , special thanks to creature design artist David Meng for taking the time to write back to me with advise and comments, that meant the world to me! He did amazing work on king kong and district 9.
